Since 2007, when I started tracking my song plays via Last.fm, I’ve listened to over 11,000 different artists. My musical tastes run across several genres and decades. In this post and the Mike’s Music Mix posts to follow, I’m posting a few YouTube videos from some of those 11,000 artists. I’ll include a few different artists in each post, and endeavor to not repeat any video I’ve posted on this site before. I’m doing this just because I want to, but if you find any of the videos interesting or amusing, whether you’ve heard or seen them before, that’s cool. Maybe you’ll also learn something about me from hearing and seeing what music and videos I like.
So here are the videos for Mike’s Music Mix, Part 1.
Waylon Jennings – I’ve Always Been Crazy
Let’s start this mix off with the theme song for my own life. 🙂
Fefe Dobson – Fckn In Love
Fefe is my most played artist since I started tracking my plays, so she’s gotta be next.
Fleetwood Mac – Save Me
Rihanna – You Da One
Stevie Wonder – Superstition
Lana Del Rey – West Coast
Elton John – Daniel
Marina and the Diamonds – Fear and Loathing
George Jones – He Stopped Loving Her Today
The Pretty Reckless – Heaven Knows
War – Peace Sign
Mandy Moore – In My Pocket
Styx – Lady
This song is from the first vinyl album I ever owned, Styx II, way back when. I set the video below to start at the beginning of the song, after the two minute intro.
Demi Lovato – Confident
Guns N’ Roses – Perhaps
As of this writing, this is their latest release. I like it.
The Ting Tings – Be The One
Type O Negative – Cinnamon Girl
Mýa – Ridin
Electric Light Orchestra – Mr. Blue Sky
Grimes – I Wanna Be Software
That’s 20 songs, enough for this post. I won’t include 20 songs in every mix, but I wanted to start off strong. Until next time…
